Birthday Bears

I just can't help but use my bear, from Under the Stars, when I make a card.
This time I made a group of bears to wish my son's friend a Happy Birthday!

I just have so much fun coloring this bear. First I stamp my bears with Black Stazon onto Watercolor paper. Using retired Stampin' Write Markers, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel, and my Blender Pen to create this furry fellow.

The balloons are created from a tamp in the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set.
This a large card, it measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Spooky Bear

Now that Fall is here, it won't be long till Halloween.
I love pairing this bear from Under the Stars with other stamp sets. This time I used Wicked Cool
Using my Big Shot I cut out a Top Note of Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock. Trimmed the black piece on the dotted lines to layer it on the White piece. I stamped the cobwebs in White Stazon on the Black for a spooky background.
For my words I punched it out with the new Stampin' Up! Decorative Label punch. I shadowed it with 2 bats I punched using the Stampin' Up! Bitty Bat punch.

Craft box

I wanted to share with you how I used some of my Vinyl images from the Spooky Things Decor Elements in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog to add a little character to my son's art box. He choose to use the spiders.
See the third spider on the back side.
These spiders would look great anywhere. I am thinking how great they would look on my front door as Halloween Decoration.
We also took some of the raw vinyl and cut out his name using my handy dandy BIG SHOT and  the Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Dies
I sure do love my Big Shot.

Make a Monster Motivational card

I just realized I forgot to post this card I made using the Make a Monster stamp set.  It was a swap I made for Convention this summer.

This card looks harder than it is. I took a piece of Designer Series Paper cutting it 4" x 4". Fold each of the corners into the center so that they all touch in the center. Then fold the corner out to the edges. I punched out a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the 1 1/4" Square punch to place in the center. It allows my image to truly pop from the center. The Stampin' dimensionals help too. Don't forget to put on some googlie eyes. They make this card so much fun.

Christmas Bear

I just love this bear and can not help but make cards using this stamp set, Under the Stars.

I paired it with the new Season of Hugs stamp set from the new 2010 Holiday mini catalog. It is meant to be an accessory stamp set for the Build a Bear set but works great with my bear.
I stamped each image on all the different colors and cut and pasted them together. Don't forget to add your BLING BLING on the tree, using the self sticking Jewels Basic Rhinestones.

Birthday Owl

Have you seen the new Owl Punch?

I just love this punch. You can punch different pieces out of different colors. I choose to use Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip and Pacific Point cardstock. Along with some googlie eyes you have a cute owl.

To create this card I first stamped the base of the card with the Woodgrain Background stamp.
Punched a peek-a-boo hole using the 1 3/4" circle punch. I dressed up the Hole using the new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
To get the little branch he is perched on I punched out a piece of Old Olive card stock with the Two Step Bird Punch.

Kimono Kids Photo Album(Convention Gifts)

Here is my convention gift for some of my friends and roommates at Convention.
It features the Kimono Kids stamp set. I just love the saying in this set.
"One good friend is worth a thousand relatives."

To create this photo album cut a piece of card stock into 2 - 8 1/2" x 5" pieces scoring it at 1" and 2". Folding in the the first fold. The 2" just gives you a place to open the album. Inside I used Stampin' Up! Clear Envelopes to hold photos. Using the Crop-a-dile I punched a hole through all the layers. Added our new Antique Brads to hold it all together.

Convention Swap " Let it Snow"

Well I am in Salt Lake City Utah for the week. Really cramming to make card fronts and 3D swaps and can't forget about Convention gifts for friends. Here is one of my Swaps.

With the heat lately I thought I would created something that brought cool thoughts.
I am sure you are thinking I am crazy to say "Let it Snow".

Using the Playful Pieces stamp set (a Level 3 Hostess stamp set) I created this adorable snow man.
You will need to punch out 3 circles from copy paper. Cut those circles using the 1", 1 3/8" and 1 3/4" circle punches.
Sponge around the outer edges of the circles with Bashful Blue Classic Ink, a little more heavy handed. Lightly sponging the inner part of the circle.  Then add all of his accessories from the Playful Pieces stamp set to complete the look. Just love it.
The words are from Punch Pals stamp set.

This is a very simple card, only 2 layers. Bashful Blue and Whisper White card stock. To add a little depth I dragged the Whisper White card stock through Early Espresso Classic Ink (just the edge to add a thin line). It gives an illusion of a third layer of card stock.

No Stampin' Dimensionals on this card. Doesn't happen often:)

I also down scaled this card to create an ATC sized swap.

Created basically the same as the full size card. Except I used smaller circle punches. The 3/4", 1" and 1 3/8" circle punches. I also had to hand draw the eyes, mouth and buttons.

Elegant Thank You Card

This card is such an elegant beauty. Very Chic!

This card is easier than it looks. The background is Sponged using a rectangle stencil. Stamp image in Stazon on Whisper White card stock. Using the Regal Rose Stampin' Write Marker color all of the flower except the centers. Come back with your
Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker, only coloring the dark areas. This gives such depth. On your leaves use an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker to color it all then follow up with the Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker in the dark areas.

Amour!

Another beautiful card made with the Artistic Etchings stamp set.

To create this card I also used the En Francais background stamp set. They just pair so well together. The Eiffel Tower is cut out and pops from the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
These colors are beautiful together. The Cherry Cobbler card stock is so rich and vibrant.

Fellow Demonstrators who are attending Convention. I have recreated this card for one of my swaps.

Live with Passion

This stamp is part of the Inspired by Nature. It is a great solid stamp to have as part of your collection.

To create this card I used a Two-Step Emboss Resist with Markers Technique.

You start by inking up your stamp with Versa Mark, then using your Stampin' Write Markers you apply color to the image. It will look as if it is streaky. Stamp Image on Whisper White card stock that is first cut out using the Big Shot and the Top Note Die Cut. Apply Clear Embossing powder. Heat. Follow up with your Brayer and Old Olive Classic Ink. Ink up your Brayer well. Start off your paper quickly working towards it (this avoids a solid line at the top)
I stamped my words on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, cut around it leaving white space all around. This will make the words pop.

Have fun stamping!

Graduation Card

Congratulations to all the graduates!

Here is my graduation card I made for those graduates!

This Go, Graduate stamp set can be found in the Summer Mini Catalog. This was fun to color with markers.
I started with the Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker around the images. This will make it pop. For the graduation gowns I colored them in with the Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker and followed with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to outline. It still gives a black appearance without being too dark.

Indiana Jones Lego card

This weekend one of the neighbor kids was having a Legos Indian Jones themed birthday, so I wanted to make a card that would match.

Using punches I was able to create this adorable card. I did have to pull out the paper snips to make a few simple cuts.

The hardest part is drawing out the details on his face and clothes. I used this picture from the invitation for guidance.

I had so much fun creating it.

Elements of Style Card

With the release of a new Mini Catalog comes great stamp sets.

I just love this stamp set. It is called Elements of Style. What a classy set. It is the same set that I used to create the Life is a Matter of Moments card posted May 23.

This time I paired it with the Big Shot.

The Big Shot is a wonderful tool. With all the Dies and Embossing options.
It is a must have.

Even though I only cut card stock for this product, the Big Shot has the capability to cut a variety of materials. It quickly and easily create die-cut or embossed shapes, envelopes, tags, and baskets.

Aloha Bear

This bear looks as if he has been to Hawaii.
I couldn't resist using the Button Latte Designer Buttons along with some Linen Thread to create this bears bikini top. A grass skirt created with scissors and a piece of Old Olive card stock.

He is so sticking cute.  To complete this card I used the palm tree from the Tropical Party stamp set, Island Oasis Designer Series Paper and letters from the Rough Type stamp set.

Swish You a Happy Birthday

This bear is awesome! You really can do just about any type of card using him.

If you don't all ready own it , the stamp set is called Under the Stars.

I highly recommend the stamp set! It has been so much fun playing with it. Pair it with the different stamp sets that I own.

Here is another card.
I love the words on the Front cover.
"SWISH you a Happy Birthday"

Thought of if purely by accident.
I was cutting out the word SWISH and
realized it looks like wish... and what do you say for someone's birthday but I wish you a Happy Birthday. So I just had to do it.

The basketball net was stamped Vellum card stock. This allows for you to see the basketball in the hoop.

Birthday cupcake card

Here is a fun Birthday card. I really enjoyed making this one.

I stamped the cupcake from the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp on three times, on Real Red card stock for the cherry section, onto a piece of Whisper White card stock that has been swirled using a shaving cream technique and a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock for the base.

I cut out each section right on the line. Run the base of your cupcake through your Paper Crimper, wrap a piece of Pretty in Pink Tafetta ribbon around the base and tie into a pretty knot.
The frosting area needed something so I first added on 1/4" Chocolate Chip circles onto desired areas then applied Two Way Glue and Dazzling Diamond to each.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals I pieced the cupcake back together onto the base of my card. This makes the cupcake pop off the card.

SHAVING CREAM

·      Fill your container with shaving cream and use your wooden stick to smooth it out a bit.
·      Add several drops of each of your re-inker colors to your shaving cream.
·      Mix Shaving Cream and re-inker in a swirling motion continue to mix until you like the design you like
·      Press cardstock into shaving cream. Make sure to the card front is completely coated.
Take paper towel and wipe away shaving cream in swirling motion, let dry and complete card.

Here is another great example of how to use the Shaving Cream technique. It really makes beautiful Easter Eggs.(This card features the In Colors from last year and A Good Egg stamp set.)

Staircase Birthday Card

Here is one of the cards that my Stamp club made in March. I thought this card was a great way to feature the staircase card.

Adding such cute flowers to the middle step. To make these flowers I used my Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! Blossom Party Die and Stampin' Up! Birds and Blooms Sizzlits Dies. I also used some a Vintage Brad and a So Saffron Flower brad from the Flower Assortment Designer Brads.
Several stamp sets were used in this card. They are On a Pedestal, On Your Birthday and A Little Birthday Cheer.

Chocolate Bunny Treat Bag

Looking for a cute and simple treat for co workers.

How about the little Chocolate Bunny, page 43 of the Occasion Mini Catalog. He is so realistic looking.

I stamped him in Chocolate Chip Craft ink on  Close to Cocoa Card stock then I used Clear Embossing Powder. This really added to the dimension. Finished it off by cutting out this adorable bunny. A little Easter grass in a Medium Flat Cellophane Bag (page 158 of the Idea Book & Catalog) with a serving of jelly beans.

Finishing the bag off by tying some Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon around the top with a little tag. The words from Eight Great Greetings stamp set stamped out then punched with the Medium Jewlery Tag punch, found on page 10 of the Occasion Mini Catalog.
